Maybelline Mini Haul (Swatches)

Are you a lipstick person? I have never really been a makeup person. But I'm getting older, my face is losing its youthful glow and wrinkles are slowly becoming apparent. As a dermatitis sufferer, I've always been concerned with skincare but makeup has taken a back seat until recently. I've resolved to start putting a bit more care into not only how I look but how I feel, and really focusing on my overall wellbeing. Hence the lipstick. My inner tomboy died back when I started having children and now it loves pretty things. That part of me needs a bit colour.
Pretty things.

My most recent buys were two Maybelline Colour Sensational lipsticks in 055 Pinkalicious and 820 Strike a Rose which I'll be showing you along one of my favourite eyeliners: Maybelline Master Graphic.

It's funny how I just had to check the packaging for the name even though it has been my go-to for the past month. Do names really matter with makeup? No. Because some of them are just obviously words thrown together to make an impact even though they don't really apply to the product. Colour Sensational isn't one of the names I'd give to these lippies. They're sheer with slight shimmer, and while the colours do shine through beautifully, I'd focus more on the non-drying properties of these lippies.
055 Pinkalicious

I have dry lips. They are always peeling, despite my frequent application of lip balm. I usually use a lip primer or balm before applying lipstick of even gloss because they look dry and bitten under any colour. Fortunately I didn't have to do that in this case as they sit well on top and hold their own for a good few hours. If you can't tell from the shades I chose, I'm a nude lip sort of person so they're perfect for everyday wear.
820 Strike a Rose

The Maybelline Master Graphic is one of those products I just have to share. If you're looking for a drugstore liquid liner, this is it. It goes on thick or thin depending on how you angle the nib and the colour is strong and doesn't bleed. It's like writing on your eyelids with a Sharpie and it gets down into my lash line easily. Master Graphic? Okay, the name fits.

Swatched below for your viewing pleasure. Fairly certain these lip colours alone would suit most people. Not a bold lip but nice, subtle colours in a nourishing formula.
